Liam's Confused Move

Liam Lawrence's move to Portsmouth has become a little confused, just as he was helping the Republic of Ireland go top of their group with a 3-1 win over Andorra...

The Football League have confirmed that the Ex Stags star's permanent move to the South Coast club would not be given the green light because the necessary paperwork was not registered in time.

Of course, as with all these matters, there is a way round it, and it is expected that Lawrence will be able to sat at Fratton Park, in a loan deal until the new transfer window in January, before making the move permanent.

Lawrence moved south, after his dream move to Celtic north of the border failed to take off.
