Cambridge 3-1 Mansfield - Reports & Highlights

Cambridge
3 - 1
Mansfield

Abbey Stadium

18/04/15; 3pm

Attendance: 4,667

Referee:

Mansfield's League 2 status was secured on Saturday, even though we were beaten at Cambridge, who also secured their survival as a result.... As they would have regardless following defeats for both Tranmere and Cheltenham, who remain the bottom two!

Survival is something we'll take, but ideally we would have wanted to secure it ourselves and not become the side that Cambridge ended their three-month wait for a home win against when they beat us three-one at the Abbey Stadium.

Cambridge got off to a great start with a screamer from Kaikai (3) given the home side an early lead with a 40-yard freekick with Kaikai (43) adding his second, and doubling the lead, a couple of minutes before the break.

When Bingham (64) got in to reduce the deficit after Coulson's poor backpass we had hope but couldn't fine an equaliser.

The Cambridge win was confirmed when Elliott (88) headed home two-minutes from time.

Another season of Football League football being secured, however it happened, is something we'll take but who, in your opinion, was the Mansfield MotM from this defeat on Saturday?
