League 2 - AFC Wimbledon 0-1 Mansfield

AFC Wimbledon
0 - 1

Kingsmeadow Stadium

20/12/14; 3pm

Attendance: 3,790

Mansfield went into Christmas the happier of the two sides on Saturday afternoon when we went away from AFC Wimbledon with a win.

A 'hard fought' and sometimes 'scrappy' game, which saw us end with 10-men after a first half sending off of Taylor, was won one-nil thanks to a goal early in the second half at Kingsmeadow.

The post was the only thing that denied us an early goal, with the Wimbledon defence switching off we almost caught them cold from a quick freekick but Rhead' effort hit the post.

At the midway point of the first half we were reduced to 10-men though, leaving us to play around two thirds of the game a man light after Taylor dived in with a wild two-footed challenge on Moore.

We had got through to half time level but then within minutes of the restart a goal of simplicity put us ahead. A long ball forward got Oliver (47) away and he made no mistake to beat Wimbledon 'keeper James Shea.

In the end we had to cling on somewhat with Bulman the main AFC Wimbledon, he had several chances but was denied by our 'keeper Evtimov or the post! One-nil to us it was though.
