Cambridge United 2-2 Mansfield
The Abbey Stadium
Mansfield twice lead against Cambridge United on Saturday afternoon but we weren't able to see off our league 2 rivals in the FA Cup and give Adam Murray a winning start to his permanent spell as Stags boss.
We're still in the FA Cup though after this 2-2 draw at the Abbey Stadium, with an injury-time equaliser denying us the win and an assured place in round three.
It couldn't really have been a better start for us when Rakish Bingham (3) was left with a free header that he planned past Chris Dunn from Robert Taylor's cross to give us an early lead.
Cambridge weren't behind for long though as Luke Chadwick (10) beat Sascha Studer after Tom Champion had robbed Simon Heslop to give the former Manchester United man the chance, which he happily took.
Kwesi Appiah twice threatened to put the hosts ahead but Studer was equal to these efforts to keep it at one-one.
As the game moved into the final 10-minutes the pressure on Tom Champion (81) resulted in the Cambridge defender turning the ball past his own keeper from another Taylor delivery to leave us in a good position to progress, which could have been assured had Fergus Bell not seen his effort tipped over by Dunn.
That save proved the difference as deep into injury-time Appiah (90+2) took on a knockdown to fire home to see the game end in a two-two draw, meaning we'll have to replay at the One Call Stadium.
