Evans In Team Of The Week (24/1/17)

Evans In Team Of The Week (24/1/17)

Mansfield Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Mansfield in the three one victory over Cambridge United at the weekend at the Abbey Stadium was enough to earn Evans a place as manager of the most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Evans was selected to manage the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Mansfield are unbeaten in six games in all competitions after their latest victory, a 3-1 win away at Cambridge United. The hosts were on a hot streak themselves, going undefeated in eight, but the Stags cruised to three points, and were boosted by a debut goal from Evans' new signing Shaquile Coulthirst.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Evans for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Joe Day (Newport County), Eoghan O'Connell (Walsall), Sonny Bradley (Plymouth Argyle), DeAndre Yedlin (Newcastle United), Anthony Knockaert (Brighton), Josh Wright (Gillingham), Jamey Osbourne (Grimsby Town), Conor Grant (Doncaster Rovers), Rob Hall (Oxford United), Chuks Aneke (MK Dons), Ollie Watkins (Exeter City).

Manager - Steve Evans (Mansfield Town).
