Ilkeston Suspend Ricketts....

Ilkeston Town have suspended forward Gary Ricketts, after he was involved with three incidents in the Friendly with Mansfield Town, that left 3 players in hospital...

Ilkeston FC chairman Dave Mantle told the Nottingham Evening Post 'Kevin Wilson and I have already met to discuss Gary Ricketts' part in the incidents, but we need to gather more evidence and speak to the player himself before deciding our next course of action.'

John Thompson, Martin Riley and Richie Sutton were all taken to hospital after challenges involving Ricketts.

The worse of those by far is Thompson, who was sent into the railings at the side of the pitch and suffered a broken nose.

Riley had to have five stiches in a head wound, whilst Sutton is thought to have ripped tendons in his shoulder.
